![]() ![]() ![]() These services are very damaging to a franchisee's bottom line, but this is part of the deal of bring traffic in based on the draw of the brand. but a franchisee can't say "I'm only accepting crypto and gold" and expect to keep their national franchise.Ĭonsider as an example another national brand "The UPS Store." All of them are franchises, owned separately from UPS.BUT as a franchisee of the brand, like it or not, they are required as part of the deal to perform all services expected by UPS, including Amazon returns (and the actual packaging of them for return). Of course there are specific regional exceptions like McDonald's having lobster burgers in Cape Cod, etc. If ANY franchise does less OR more outside of standard expectations of the brand, they are diminishing the entire chain and should probably separate from the brand and operate as "(Generic) Coffee" and see what that does to business. That is the expectation of Dunkin corporate. Someone should be able to go into any Dunkin and get the same services & experience. The entire point of a large brand like Dunkin is standardization. Obviously what I am about to write is NOT about goofy social media-loving attention addicts that ask for stupid concoctions, this is about general, standard stuff (like payment types and more). I know this won’t apply to the vast majority of you, I just wanted to vent after hearing this all too much this week. When we tell you this is how it works at our store we aren’t making it up to mess with you and arguing like you know it works differently isn’t going to change that. And GMs also make a huge difference in how each location is run. ![]() Hell two Dunkins 10 minutes apart could be different franchises and there for run very differently. In general please just be nice and don’t argue that another Dunkin does X. (This plea stems from an actual experience where a grown ass man thru a hiss fit because he had to come inside to pay for his chai latte) I’m not getting in trouble and messing with my lively hood for your $3.50 iced coffee. ![]() Please don’t get mad at me when I tell you my location can’t do Apple Pay. My GM also has a rule about no apple pay thru the drive thru incase a phone would get broken or our equipment would get damaged when we put it out the window. Especially not the Vanilla & Strawberry cause that will make the Vanilla curdle) My GM is super strict about, if it can’t be rang into the pos we don’t do it. (Someone got super mad and sped off last week when I told her we don’t mix Coolatta syrups. Please don’t argue with me or get an attitude when I say I can’t make something. Some general managers let the staff make off menu items, that’s great. Afternoon shifts especially are too busy with lower staff and trying to get food thawed for the next day to have time to mess with customers. We aren’t lying to you when we say we are out of something or don’t care a certain thing. “Well X Dunkin has that item/drink.” Great. That’s our price set by our franchise owner. I don’t care if this drink is cheaper 20 minutes away at a different Dunks. I don’t care if the Dunkin 2 towns over “does it it for me” we don’t. Rant from a Dunkin employee who heard the “well this Dunkin _” one too many times this week. ![]()
